A Belated hi from Rhinosoft with a 62' Thunderbird
Hi All,
I have not been on this forum before, did not know about it until Dave sent me a link a few weeks ago. Good to see you fella's on here, I don't really like sharing the other forum with Chevvy owners Ha Ha, just joking...or am i?
Since I gave up posting on Jets/Renegades I have been updating my build and adding comments on the US Vintage Thunderbird Forum, which has heaps of people and hits as you would know.
I have my car running again now and just fine tuning it, hope to have it out and about soon.
These are some of the things I have done over the last 12 months:
- rebuilt engine, 390 .30th over
- edelbrock heads/manifold
- roller camshaft
- hydroboost brake system (due to no vacuumn after engine tweaks)
- holley 670 street avenger (currently tuning it up to suit engine)
- front end alignment - bloody idiots don't know how to set camber/caster these days so still a work in progress
I may also replace the wire wheels with some nice Cragar or Schott wheels, anyone interested in 15" wire wheels with near new tyres which fit a 65/66 tbird and probably 61-64, not sure. Yeah, I have disc brakes off a 66'
Here is the carb I am working on, see the little screw, I think that controls the secondary idle adjustment. I will be playing around with that next.
Graeme

The work you've done to your engine sounds really interesting. Hope it all works out as it should this time. I think either of those wheel choices will work really well. I'm looking at doing the same to mine cragar SS i think. I'm just in the process of lifting mine up approx 1~11/2" all round. Be good to see yours on the road again. most haven't seen your car so i think i'll rerun yours as car of the Month.

Hi Dave, sounds good - those schott wheels cost a heap but Are so nice. I love the edelbrock heads but they had to be thread-serted because threads were stuffed. .. All of them. They are cast in China but machined in USA according to my man here.

Edelbrock heads cast in China, it's a real sign of the times hey.
Good luck with it mate.
