Hi All 65Bird here
Hi
65Bird here, I was a member of thunder downunder forum, I am the founder of this forum and it feels weird posting this up when there are no members to read it, hopefully that will change quickly.
I've owned 3 Thunderbirds over the years started with a 57 but it was too squeezy then a 60 convertible (Missus didn't like the roof down) and my latest is a 65 hardtop which has had lots of hours of TLC poured into her.
this was a total rebuild about 5 years ago. she gets next to no use these days just after i'd finished her I had an accident on my bike (Pushbike) got cleaned up by a Hoon in a rice burner when i was coming home from work one night so i'm not very mobile these days, anyway it gives me plenty of time on the computer, I get out there in the wheel chair and polish her up with the help of my missus, She's my pride and joy the missus takes me for a drive in her every now and then but she doesnt like the LHD. I've got a mate who lives 15min away he comes over sometimes and we take her for a run, The engine & trans is where this TBird really shines it's got lots of trick bits in the 390 + a shift kit in the auto chirps the tyres into second gear, i changed the diff gears to a set of Summit racing 3:55 ratio this car is very very quick and beautifull to drive. here's some pics.

Re: Hi All 65Bird here
Wow Awsome looking bird there. It looks like a Special Landau. If it is do you know what number build she is? Mine is number 1953. I just can't get over the chrome work on the engine bay.
Sorry to hear you can't drive her since your accident but you have a good mate that looks after you and takes you both out. I was 65bird on the last forum but it sort of lost me when it started to change name after name after name. I will post some pics of my car in the member section. I'm sure more T/Birders will come over here.
Good to have a T/bird site again.
Cheers, Nick.

Hi 65Bird,
Well done on taking on the challenge of setting up and administering this new Thunderbird Forum. Also happy to read you have Dave's blessing and assistance.
But...very sad to learn of your accident and the thought of the real challenges you are probably facing in life.
You have a beautiful 65 SL Flair Bird.
Thanks for starting us off by posting these pics.
Would love to see photos of your old 57 & 60 birds. Gone but no doubt...not forgotten.
I will also drop by this Forum regularly to check out what is going on and hope to have something to add from time to time.
Good luck.

Re: Hi All 65Bird here
As others have said: good job getting this site rollin'! - I'll drop in regularly, hopefully it stays 'seemly' and friendly.
It's a VERY nice '65 that you have, so clean and new lloking, also I much prefer the hood-scoop on them to the emblem that my '66 has.
And that badge on the shroud over the fan, where did you get it?
Is you wheel-chair going to be a 'life-partner'?

Hi Nick, your car looks great. I would love to have a engine bay looking that good. If this forum takes off, It might be nice to catch up members like a informal lunch once or twice a year, breakfast is too early for me.
Cheers Arthur.

Me too Arthur but the tropht goes to 65bird (Bidbird) in the other forum, I'm still 65bird in the other one but 195bird here.
But man what an awsome looking car he has, I would have to spend over $10K to get it just close to his.

Re: Hi All 65Bird here
Hi Guys
Not sure you'll be seeing that car out and about any time soon. 65Bird or Boof has just been pronounced legally blind after a recent car accident so he wont be driving his pride and joy any time soon.
